Officiating
Each year, we need volunteers to register to officiate with MCSL.
Officiating consists of Stroke & Turn, Starter, or Referee. Returning officials who have 2 years of Stroke & Turn can train for Referee.
MCSL Information
- MCSL tracks certifications by the year the clinic was attended. Officials must recertify every two years.
- Effective with the 2024 MCSL season any official seeking initial Referee certification must be certified as a Stroke and Turn Judge for at least two years.
- For USA Swimming Officials wishing to transfer their certifications to MCSL:
- Please follow the instructions here. Please include your MCSL team when emailing.
- See the USA Swimming Interpretation of the Breaststroke/Butterfly Touch Rule (separated and simultaneous).
- To order name tags, use the online order form for the new MCSL Officials name tags.
- MCSL Officials Polo Shirts are available at Capital Sport and Swim in Kensington.
